Why hasn't my Stripe card payment cleared into my bank account?

If a card payment taken through HUSL hasn't reached your bank account yet, check your Stripe Dashboard, payout settings and connected Stripe account.

When a client pays by card through Stripe integrated with HUSL, the payment is processed by Stripe and then paid out to your nominated bank account according to your Stripe payout settings.

If you can't see the money in your bank account yet, don't panic. There are several things you can check yourself in Stripe before contacting HUSL Support.

Step 1: Log in to your Stripe account

The first thing to do is log in directly to your Stripe account.

Make sure you're logging in with the same email address you used when you originally registered your Stripe account.

Once you're logged in, open your Stripe Dashboard.

This is where you can see information about:

  • Card payments
  • Payment status
  • Your Stripe balance
  • Payouts
  • Payout status
  • Your payout schedule

🔔 Check for messages from Stripe

While you're in your Stripe Dashboard, look for any messages, alerts or notifications from Stripe.

Stripe may contact you if there is an issue with your account that could affect your payments or payouts. For example, your account may have been:

  • Paused
  • Restricted
  • Placed under review
  • Waiting for additional information or verification

If Stripe is asking you to provide additional information or complete a verification step, follow the instructions provided by Stripe.

💡 Tip

If you're looking for a particular payment, check the payment status in your Stripe Dashboard first.

Stripe is the payment provider processing your card transactions, so your Stripe Dashboard will have the most up-to-date information about the payment and payout.

Step 2: Is this your first Stripe payment?

⏱️ Your first Stripe payout can take 7–14 business days

If this is the first payment you've ever processed through your Stripe account, please allow approximately 7–14 business days for your first payout to reach your bank account.

This initial timeframe is different from your normal ongoing payout timeframe because Stripe may carry out additional fraud prevention, security and account verification checks when you first start processing payments.

Why does Stripe do these checks?

These checks are designed to help protect the Stripe payment network, your business and your clients from fraudulent or suspicious transactions.

For your business, this additional security helps provide:

  • Greater protection against fraudulent payments
  • A safer payment environment for your clients
  • Verification that your Stripe account and payment activity are legitimate
  • Reduced risk of payment-related fraud and financial losses

Think of it as a security check before opening the doors to your salon for the first time — it's an extra step to make sure everything is legitimate and safe before your payment activity gets underway.

The initial 7–14 business day timeframe is not necessarily how long your future payouts will take.

What happens after my first payout?

Once the initial checks have been completed, subsequent payouts are generally processed much faster and typically take around 2–3 business days to reach your bank account, depending on your Stripe account and payout schedule.

So, if you've just connected Stripe to HUSL and you're waiting for your first payout, don't worry if it takes longer than your future payouts.

Step 3: Check your payout settings

If you can't see the money in your bank account, check your Stripe payout settings.

Stripe can have different payout schedules, and your account may be set to manual payouts.

If your payout schedule is set to manual, Stripe may be holding your available funds until you manually request the payout.

Check your Stripe account settings and make sure your payout schedule is set to Automatic if you want Stripe to automatically pay your available balance into your nominated bank account.

Why is this important?

A successful card payment does not necessarily mean the money has already arrived in your bank account.

There are two separate steps:

Client pays by card

Stripe processes the payment

Funds become available in your Stripe balance

Stripe pays the funds to your bank account according to your payout settings

Step 4: Make sure the correct Stripe account is connected to HUSL

This is an important one!

Some stylists have more than one Stripe account and don't realise that the Stripe account connected to HUSL may not be the one they're currently checking.

For example, you might have:

  • An older Stripe account
  • A newer Stripe account
  • A Stripe account created for another business

You may assume that the Stripe account you're looking at is the one connected to HUSL, when it may actually be a different Stripe account.

Check that you're looking at the correct Stripe account

If you can't find the HUSL payment in your Stripe Dashboard:

  1. Check the email address you're using to log in to Stripe.
  2. Check whether you have more than one Stripe account.
  3. Confirm which Stripe account is connected to your HUSL account.
  4. Check the relevant Stripe Dashboard for the payment.

If the payment isn't showing in the Stripe account you're checking, don't assume the HUSL payment hasn't been processed. You may simply be looking at the wrong Stripe account.

What if the payment is showing in Stripe but hasn't reached my bank?

If you can see the payment in your Stripe Dashboard, check the payout status and your payout schedule.

Also, check that the correct bank account details are saved in your Stripe account. If your bank account details are incorrect, outdated or linked to the wrong account, your payout may be delayed or sent to the wrong place.

The payment may have successfully processed but may still be:

  • Waiting to become available
  • Included in an upcoming payout
  • Waiting for an automatic payout
  • Waiting for you to manually initiate a payout if your account is set to manual

Remember, Stripe processes the card payment and manages the payout to your bank account. HUSL does not control the timing of your Stripe payout.

Still can't find your payment?

If you've checked your Stripe Dashboard and still can't locate the payment or understand its status, contact HUSL Support.

When contacting us, let us know:

  • The date of the payment
  • The payment amount
  • The client's name
  • The email address associated with your Stripe account

This will help our team investigate the issue more efficiently.

Remember

HUSL → takes and records the payment
Stripe → processes the card payment and manages your payout
Your bank → receives the Stripe payout
