Why isn't my small card payment showing in HUSL?

If you're setting up payments in HUSL, you may make a small card payment to test that everything is working correctly.

You may also be making your first real Stripe payment so you can get your initial Stripe payout processing period underway.

In either situation, there are a couple of important things to know.

💳 Stripe's minimum card payment is $1.00 AUD

Stripe has a minimum card payment amount of $1.00 AUD.

If you attempt a card payment for less than $1.00, the payment is below Stripe's minimum and will not successfully process.

If you're testing your HUSL payments

Make sure your test transaction is $1.00 or more.

This is particularly important if you're testing a very small amount just to check that your Stripe connection or Tap to Pay is working.

A payment under $1.00 may make it look like there is an issue with HUSL, Stripe or your Tap to Pay setup, when the transaction is simply below Stripe's minimum payment amount.

What about my first Stripe payment?

When you first start using Stripe, your first payout can take around 7–14 business days to reach your bank account.

This longer timeframe is part of Stripe's initial fraud prevention and security checks. Stripe uses this initial period to verify your account and help protect against fraudulent or suspicious activity.

Some stylists intentionally make their first payment when setting up HUSL so they can get this initial payout process underway.

If you're doing this, remember that the payment must be at least $1.00 AUD to meet Stripe's minimum card payment amount.

What happens after the first payout?

Once Stripe has completed the initial checks, your subsequent payouts are generally processed much faster, typically taking around 2–3 business days to reach your bank account, depending on your Stripe payout schedule and account.

So don't assume that every Stripe payment will take 7–14 business days to reach your bank account. That longer timeframe applies to the initial payout period.

Where can I check my Stripe payments and payouts?

If you have any doubts about:

• Whether a payment was successful
• Whether money has been received
• When your payout will arrive
• Your payout schedule
• Your Stripe balance
• Your payment history

The best place to check is your Stripe Dashboard.

Stripe manages your card payment processing and payouts, so your Stripe Dashboard will provide the most up-to-date information about the status of your payments and payouts.

Simply log in to your Stripe account and check your Dashboard for the relevant payment or payout status.

HUSL is where you take and record your payments, while Stripe processes your card payments and manages your payouts.

So, if you're unsure about the status or timing of a card payment or payout, check your Stripe Dashboard first.
