# Is the HUSL app free?

## Learn how HUSL keeps your business costs low. $0 subscription, no hidden fees, and no tech charges — because we’re also a retail marketplace. We are not your usual salon software!

### ✅ **Yes, the HUSL app is completely free to download and use.**

Here’s the *why*:  
We’re a **Retail Marketplace**, not a subscription platform.  
That means we earn our revenue through **product sales** — **not** by charging you to run your business.

So, there are **$0 subscription fees**, **no hidden costs**, and **no charges** for using the app or its core features.

### **1. How We Make It Free**

Because HUSL is a retail marketplace, we generate revenue through:

- **Drop-shipping:** Sell 3,500+ professional products (like K18, O&M, Joico, NAK and more) directly to your clients — no inventory needed.
- **Wholesale Shop:** Buy those same professional brands with no minimum spend, to use or sell in-salon.

💡 **Tip:** Download the app (it’s free!) to explore all partner brands once you’re verified as a professional stylist.

### **2. Appointment Booking & Payments**

You can use the **Appointment Booking** feature and accept **card, cash**, **bank transfers,** or even complete transactions with up to **3 customised offline payments** such as Gift Vouchers, and again completely **free**.

We’ve also integrated **Stripe** so you can:

- Accept **card payments** from clients
- Complete **drop-shipped transactions** at the same time — all in one seamless tap-and-pay action.

**Stripe's bank fee** 1.75% + 30¢ per transaction  
(We recommend adding 2% to your services, to cover the fee)

### **3. SMS Appointment Reminders**

You can switch **SMS reminders** on or off anytime in your app settings.

- **Cost:** 9¢ per SMS (set by phone carriers).
- **Bonus:** Any SMS related to **payments or transactions** — we cover that cost for you!
