How to Export Your Client Data from Client Diary
Step-by-step guide to exporting your clients, services and appointments from Client Diary so the HUSL team can import your data for you for FREE.
Good news — our team can perform a complimentary import of your:
- Client list
- Services
- Appointments / Bookings
You simply need to export the relevant CSV files from Client Diary and send them to us.
Follow the steps below.
Step 1 — Export Your Client List
- Log in to your Client Diary account using a desktop web browser.
- In the left-hand menu, click Reports.
- Select Export Tools.
- Choose Client Details.
- Click Export.
- Client Diary will generate a CSV file for download.
What Client Data We Can Import
Think of this like mixing the perfect colour bowl — we just need the right ingredients.
We can import:
- First name
- Last name
- Mobile number (essential)
- Email address
- Client notes
Important
The mobile number is the key identifier for each client.
✔ As long as the client has a mobile number, we can bring them across to HUSL.
Step 2 — Export Your Services
- Navigate to the relevant area in Client Diary that contains your service menu.
- Open Reports > Export Tools.
- Select your service data.
- Export the file as a CSV.
This file allows us to recreate your services inside HUSL.
Step 3 — Export Your Appointments
- Go to Reports > Export Tools.
- Select your appointment or booking data.
- Choose the desired date range.
- Export the file as a CSV.
This allows us to import your existing bookings into HUSL.
Step 4 — Send Your Files to HUSL
Once exported, email your files to:
Please send the email from the same email address linked to your HUSL account and attach:
- Clients CSV
- Services CSV
- Appointments CSV

👉 Important Note About Processing Times
If processing times were not properly configured within your services in Client Diary, your Services and Bookings will be imported exactly as they existed in that system.
Once the import is complete, you'll need to:
- Go to your imported services in HUSL.
- Edit the service settings.
- Add processing times within the service structure where required.
The overall duration of the service can remain the same, but it will now take advantage of HUSL's processing time functionality.
Why This Matters
Adding processing times allows:
- Clients to book during processing periods via online booking.
- You to maximise appointment availability and efficiency.
What Happens to Existing Bookings?
Imported bookings will remain unchanged.
Any new bookings moving forward will follow your updated service setup, including processing times.

✔ Make sure your browser allows downloads.
✔ Keep exported CSV files unedited where possible for the cleanest import.
✔ Double-check that mobile numbers are included in your client export.
✔ If you're unsure which files to send, simply send everything you export and our team will sort it out.
