Why do I see a dummy email address on my customer’s profile?

Don’t worry, dummy email addresses are generated automatically when a customer hasn’t provided an email address.

You may sometimes notice a dummy email address on a customer’s profile in HUSL.

These email addresses are generated automatically by HUSL and are correct. They are used when a customer hasn't provided an email address but our systems require an email identifier to create and manage their customer profile.

HUSL integrates with systems such as Shopify and our CRM, which require an email address to identify a customer. If your customer hasn't provided one, a random email identifier is generated instead.

Can I update the dummy email address?

Yes!

If you know your customer's actual email address, you can update their customer profile at any time.

Simply:

  1. Open the customer's profile.
  2. Tap top right 3 dots
  3. Select Edit Profile
  4. Replace the dummy email address with your customer's actual email address.
  5. Save the changes.

Once updated, their real email address will be used on their customer profile.

💡 Helpful tip

If you collect a customer's email address, it's a good idea to update their HUSL profile. This ensures their customer information is as accurate and complete as possible.

The dummy email does not mean there is anything wrong with your customer's account or your HUSL app. It is simply an identifier used when an email address hasn't been provided.
